Seeding Lexington and the Lake Country
Hydroseeding in Lexington often means lake-country work. High Rock Lake, the second-largest lake in North Carolina, lies a few miles south of the city and begins at the confluence of the Yadkin and South Yadkin rivers. Its surface covers 15,180 acres with 365 miles of shoreline, and homes on and near that shoreline need lawns and banks that hold when it rains.
Shallow water, real stakes
High Rock is known for its largemouth bass, likely helped by the lake's relatively shallow nature. Shallow coves show the effects of muddy runoff quickly, so on lake lots we put silt fence along the low edge, seed as soon as grading wraps up, and use blankets on banks that run down to the water.
Industrial growth
In August 2023 Siemens Mobility broke ground on a 220-acre railcar manufacturing facility in Lexington. Projects at that scale go through months of open ground and need large-area hydroseeding, slope stabilization and sediment control. We work with site contractors on big jobs as well as on smaller pads.
Bedroom-community lawns
Lexington, Thomasville and the rural areas around them are slowly developing as bedroom communities for Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point. New houses on former farm or wood lots need full lawn installation: clearing, grading, topsoil, seed and mulch.
All land inside the city
The city itself covers 18.0 square miles, all of it land. Drainage in town relies on ditches, pipes and small streams, which is where sediment from a bare yard ends up.

Lexington Questions
Do you work on lots along High Rock Lake?
Yes. Lake lots get extra sediment control on the low side and fast cover once grading is done.
Can hydroseeding handle a large industrial site?
Yes. Spraying covers many acres of graded ground far faster than most other seeding methods, and we pair it with blankets on steep slopes.
What should I plant on a lakefront bank?
A deep-rooted mix with a blanket over it. A mowed lawn right to the water's edge is the weakest option for holding a bank.
Do you clear and grade new home sites around Lexington?
Yes. Our crews clear, grade and spread topsoil, then we hydroseed the finished lot.
